What I’m grateful for, week 21 of 52
1. Bun cha to start the week. It’s been a year since I’ve been able to have one of my favorite bowls of food because it’s such a production to make it. A run to Farmer’s Market for all the herbs needed for it, grilling the pork, even making papaya pickles sometimes. It was all worth it though, for my two, possibly three I had Monday of last week. 2. The Friends reunion. My favorite television series. It is also one that taught us a lot about culture and sarcastic humor (I have always had a crush on Chandler), and is one we could watch over and over again. Sure…

What I’m grateful for, week 20 of 52
I can’t even remember half of it honestly, but these are the bright spots. 1. Finding out that Cheester’s nose thing isn’t cancer. When I heard it last week, I was literally on the floor a lot with him, just giving him extra attention, fattening him up because he had lost some weight. To get lab results that said infection and the vet figuring out how to give him the right antibiotics, was a sigh of relief. 2. Living room getting an upgrade of airconditioning. This was something we had been campaigning for months for, but have not been able to do because of paranoia during installation. Summer has been…

What I’m grateful for, week 19/52
1. Song of the week: Grow As We Go by Ben Platt. I have wanted to watch him onstage since Dear Evan Hansen, but for now, last year’s The Politician binge will have to do. Recently dug into his albums, and found that song. Maybe it’s a little codependent, but I like seeing my loved ones succeed. See how they begin and talk through challenges. Celebrating wins. There’s a lot there to grow with them on. 2. Speaking of challenges that you want to see through, was in an 8 hour meeting just hashing out things with a room of men with so much more power in the system than…

What I’m grateful for, week 18/52
1. Lavender things. I realized this week that most of what I buy for myself in scent is lavender, for sleep help. I got myself a tub of Sleepy from Lush that I only use for when I am lying down to sleep, and it is slowly making my pillows the same scent, which is a nice plus. 3. Getting a banoffee pie delivered, and getting ingredients for margaritas. Same person who is much more patient than me in food styling and driving, making me doubly happy in the same day. 2. New songs on my playlists. I have been listening to more music lately, and I have been needing…

What I’m grateful for, week 17/52
Honestly, it’s been a weird week. I have an ominous feeling and I can’t make it go away. Here’s hoping food band aids can help make that sinking feeling fade. I do realize that: But give me these next six minutes to enjoy the bright spots in my unsettling week: 1. I bought a super adorable corgi butt mug that I can just yell “you butthole!” When I’m frustrated, and also say “you cute butt” when I need something cute to look at. 2. Cooking a full Korean inspired lunch of army stew, bean sprout salad, and steamed egg. I need to do the steam egg better but it was…
